Star Sanders

Star Sanders joins the Silver Key Team with a background in business management, education, professional development, and loads of witty charm. Throughout her career, she has forged her own path utilizing her outside of the box thinking to encourage creative solutions for difficult questions. Her career started out as a youth counselor where she spent a year living outside and leading teenagers at an outdoor wilderness camp. Next, Star worked as a lead teacher at a local preschool and worked her way up as a professional development leader. She then decided to switch gears completely and began her own design company focusing on business and personal promotional materials. Star has always enjoyed writing and is excited to be a part of the Silver Key Team.

A born and raised North Carolinian hailing from the one stoplight town of Banner Elk, Star graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a dual degree in English & Psychology. She furthered her education by taking continuing education classes in Graphic Design at NCCU. Star has been with her highschool sweetheart, Mike, since 1996 when they met at summer camp. They settled down in the triangle area and are the parents to a fantastic boy named Rory and their dog, Mumford, who enjoys sleeping his day away. In her spare time, Star enjoys baking, writing, and causing trouble in her craft room. She and her family enjoy spending time at the beach and in the mountains when possible.
