Shalini is a North Carolina State University graduate with an agricultural and resource economics degree. Working in customer service for a financial company right out of college, Shalini realized she enjoyed helping people in any way she can. Her ultimate professional goal has always been to find meaningful ways to help people.
When her father was diagnosed with leukemia, she took a break to be with her family and help her mother with caring for him. Being at the hospital for hours in a day, she connected with many caregivers who were struggling to be there for their loved ones and perform their regular duties at home or work. When her father’s health started to improve, she wanted to find a way to help those that are currently going through the same challenges. She started volunteering with a local nonprofit providing emotional support and financial assistance to families whose children are receiving care in North Carolina partner hospitals.
Having lived in the triangle her whole life, Shalini enjoys experiencing all the new and exciting activities that have come to the area. Attending concerts and food truck rodeos with friends are considered her ultimate weekend.
